Make choosing the right piece easy with our WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) Driftwood Showpieces. These one-of-a-kind pieces are hand-selected for their unique shape and size and photographed so that what you see is the piece that arrives at your door. Perfect for aquariums, terrariums, paludariums, or reptile enclosures, these natural pieces simplify hardscape planning and bring your vision to life without any surprises.

Dragon Wood stands out for its dark brown tones and rugged texture. It has deep, natural crevices that offer a dramatic "old-growth" aesthetic, reminiscent of decaying timber found along forest riverbeds. This Dragon Wood showpiece will provide a great surface for anchoring aquatic mosses, Anubias, or Ferns, perfect for hobbyists looking to create a woodland-themed hardscape.

Approximate Size: 34L x 11W x 7H inches

Notes:

  • Tannins: All natural driftwood can leach tannins, which may create a slight yellow or brown "tea-stained" tint in your aquarium water. This is a natural process and will gradually diminish over time through regular water changes.
  • Buoyancy: Driftwood is naturally buoyant and will float initially. To ensure your showpiece stays in place, you can submerge the wood in a separate container until it is fully waterlogged. Alternatively, boiling the wood for 1–2 hours not only speeds up the process but also helps release tannins and sterilizes the piece.
  • Immediate Placement: You can secure the wood using aquarium-safe glue or weigh it down with a large stone or heavy décor until it remains submerged naturally.
  • Biofilm: Shortly after submersion, a white biofilm may develop on the wood; this is a natural bacterial growth that will disappear on its own or be eaten by shrimp and algae-eaters.
  • Important Note: We always recommend rinsing your wood thoroughly with fresh water before adding it to an established aquarium, terrarium, or enclosure to remove any surface dust or debris.
